I didn't totally realize this was a "mini" edition, but I guess for $.99 that makes sense. It definitely helps a total newbie understand the process a little better, although for someone with experience it might not be so helpful. It does have some good tips about how to make a scrapbook pretty (e.g., using color, positioning, how to plan out the scrapbook, etc.). It was helpful for me, but I definitely feel like I need something more to understand exactly what all the tools are, how they work, and what they're for. I still don't totally get what a "die cut" is, for instance. It's a fine book for the price, and I bought it to see if I was really interested in scrapbooking at all, but if you know you'll want more comprehensive information then maybe you should skip it and move on to something more comprehensive. I also dropped one star because it didn't have nearly as many pictures as I expected. I'd think a book about scrapbooking would have way more illustrations, even if it was only a dollar.Product details

Scrapbooking For Dummies® Mini Edition eBook Joan Wines Jeanne WinesReed Reviews
Interesting. Well compendium of the basic for Scrapbook. I fill that she make to much emphasis on the color chart.
Great introduction to scrapping for someone who knows nothing about scrapbooking as was me lol now I feel like I can attempt it
As someone new to the world of scrapbooking, this book was full of helpful tips and ideas. I'm now on my 2nd scrapbook, and I've referred to it often.
It talks about developing your film and mentions digital cameras as if they were obscure tools that only professionals would have. Since pictures are a major part of scrapbooks typically, this makes me wary of how archaic the other info is. Digital photo editing options/ideas are not covered. That being said, I know very little about scrapbooking and can only assume that most info here doesn't change and is still entirely valid.
I usually like the "Dummies" books, but this one was awful. I've been scrapbooking for fifteen years and I've never put this much work into it. Scrapbooking is a fun craft but the way these these authors would have you do it, I'm afraid most would give up before they start!
As an experienced card maker I checked out this book thinking that it really wouldn't teach me anything I didn't already know. But it did! There were a number of points made in this book and reiterated that made me realize I did have something to learn. For interest limiting the color pallet. Also not to overcrowd pages
I just wish it had more photographic examples
I am not a scrap book creator --- but I'd like to be. However, there are many art forms I'm interested in but do not have the time, inclination or funds to pursue. I can usually pick up a book on the creative subject I'm interested in and read about it and decide whether or not I'd like to delve into it deeper. This book was a great value, rather than buying a new OR used copy of a "Dummies" book on the subject. First, it was short enough that I actually was able to see what all the excitement was about in creating scrap books. Second, it covered the topic well enough that I think I could create a cool scrap book (actually many of them!) from things I have already on hand. I imagine those interested in creating scrap books are "savers" of momentos and would like a beautiful way to display or create a memory for someone else. Overall, very pleased with the book. It's one of those "round-to-it" types of projects...one I'll get around to when I run out of other projects I'm working on. Just glad I was able to read up on it before taking a more expensive dive.
